Four people have been killed and 30 others injured during a nationwide strike in Kenya over rising fuel costs that have jumped nearly 50% since the start of the war on Iran. The strike, called by minibus operators, has affected major cities including Nairobi and Mombasa, where protesters blocked roads and clashed with police who fired teargas. Fuel prices have risen by about 24% in the past month alone, making transport unaffordable for millions who rely on public minibuses. Opposition figures accuse President William Ruto and his associates of profiting from the crisis and question why fuel costs more in Kenya than in neighbouring countries like Uganda, which imports through the same port.
