Around 30,000 people have fled fresh gang violence in Port‑au‑Prince as armed groups tighten their grip, forcing families into makeshift shelters with little support. The UN and the World Food Programme warn that more than half the population faces acute food insecurity, with nearly half needing urgent aid, amid collapsing healthcare, education and water services. By the end of last year, 1.4 million Haitians were internally displaced, and gangs now control about 90 per cent of the capital. Al Jazeera’s Monica Yanakiew reports. Subscribe to our channel: bit.ly
