The government questioned the legality and motivation behind the indictment, while Castro’s daughter said he remains calm and sees it as part of long-standing tensions between Cuba and the United States. The developments come as Cuba faces a worsening humanitarian crisis, with a prolonged fuel shortage and power disruptions adding pressure on daily life.
