India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi says his government will set up fast-track courts to punish those involved in leaks of entrance exam papers but has ignored demands for the education ministers to resign. Tens of thousands of supporters of the youth-led “cockroach” movement have taken part in nationwide demonstrations demanding the resignation of the education minister. They also want Modi to be held accountable for the leaks, which forced the cancellation of a medical school entrance exam taken by nearly two million students in May. Ashutosh Ranka, spokesperson for the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), tells Al Jazeera that India’s exam paper leaks will persist without accountability. He says the education minister must resign and structural reform is needed to fix a “rotten” education system Subscribe to our channel: bit.ly
