The United States has sanctioned ICC President Tomoko Akane and senior trial lawyer Abdoulaye Seye, accusing the court of overreach against nations that never joined it, including its arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Secretary of State Marco Rubio branded the ICC "illegitimate", while the court warned the move endangers international justice and vowed to remain undeterred. Washington's campaign against the tribunal appears to be widening, with officials suggesting other states may reconsider ICC membership. Al Jazeera’s Manuel Rapalo reports from Washington.
