Northern France has become a new route for migrants trying to reach the UK, as increased security at traditional Channel crossing points pushes people towards alternative routes. In the coastal village of Hardelot, about 60 kilometres south of Calais, frequent police patrols and restrictions on NGOs have contributed to the area emerging as a new hotspot for migrants.
