US CENTCOM confirms attack on Iran after explosions reported

The US military says it's forces have begun striking Iran. Central Command (CENTCOM) says they're targeting positions belonging to Iran's Revolutionary Guard. There have been reports of explosions on Iran's southern coast. That includes areas along the Strait of Hormuz, on Qeshm Island, in the city of Bandar Abbas, and in the city of Sirik. The US military says its strikes follow attempted attacks by the IRGC against commercial shipping, and against American service members deployed in the region.
