Iran sets conditions for ending war with US: Exclusive

In an exclusive interview with Al Jazeera, Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, says Tehran has conveyed its conditions for ending the war with the US to Washington through a Qatari mediator. "We remain in contact with the Qatari mediator, who has conveyed our conditions to Washington with the aim of ending the war, and we are awaiting President Trump's response," he says. Those conditions are an end to the war on all fronts, including in Yemen, the release of Iran's frozen funds, and an end to the naval blockade. Al Jazeera's Towhid Asadi in Tehran says the comments reflect a two-track message: signalling readiness for diplomacy through continuing mediation with Oman and Qatar, while preparing for confrontation.
