Tens of thousands of people have gathered in New Delhi as opposition parties demand the resignation of India's chief election commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar, over allegations of voter list manipulation. Led by opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, protesters accuse the Election Commission of removing more than 130 million names from voter lists in a process they say could undermine electoral fairness and benefit Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The Election Commission says the review is intended to remove duplicate and ineligible registrations, while the BJP and the commission reject accusations of political bias. The dispute has become a major political flashpoint, raising questions about voter access and confidence in India's electoral process. Al Jazeera's Ishan Garg reports from New Delhi.
