African leaders at the African Union summit said the continent faces urgent challenges including insecurity, climate change and economic strain. At the meeting in Addis Ababa, Antonio Guterres urged stronger global representation for Africa, noting many states were unrepresented when global institutions were formed. He said fair governance is impossible without African voices shaping solutions. Leaders stressed the need to resolve conflicts such as the war in Sudan. Images of past leaders highlighted Africa’s push for influence in a shifting world order. But young Africans criticised governments as out of touch with everyday realities. Delegates pledged seriousness in tackling the continent’s pressing crises. Al Jazeera’s Haru Mutasa reports from the summit in Addis Ababa. Subscribe to our channel: bit.ly
