US-Iran talks: Tehran ready for deal if sanctions lifted, says analyst

Foad Izadi, associate professor at the University of Tehran, told Al Jazeera Iran is engaging in good faith in the Geneva nuclear negotiations with the United States. He said Tehran is willing to accept limits on its nuclear programme if sanctions are lifted. Izadi argued Donald Trump is testing whether genuine diplomacy with Iran is possible. He described Washington’s military deployments as “coercive diplomacy” meant to pressure Tehran. Iran, he said, is signalling both readiness for conflict and openness to economic cooperation. The presence of economic officials in the delegation indicates interest in mutually beneficial outcomes.
