Four on Florida-registered boat killed in shootout with Cuban forces near Villa Clara, US probes

Four people have died and seven others were injured, including a Cuban officer, after a shootout between Cuban authorities and a US-registered speedboat off Cuba's northern coast. Cuban state media said the Florida-registered vessel opened fire first after being detected one nautical mile from Villaclara province, and that those aboard were Cubans residing in Florida. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio says Washington is gathering information and will not base conclusions solely on Cuba's account, calling such incidents highly unusual and rare in recent years.
