US President Donald Trump met German Chancellor Friedrich Merz at the White House, where they discussed Iran, trade and Ukraine. Trump said the United States and Israel had acted pre-emptively against Iran, claiming Tehran was preparing to strike first during negotiations. He asserted that Iran’s military capabilities, including its air defences and missile stockpiles, had been largely destroyed. Trump denied Israel forced Washington’s hand, suggesting instead that US action may have accelerated events. He accused Iran of targeting civilians and neutral countries, while insisting US strikes were focused on military objectives. Merz said Berlin and Washington were aligned in seeking to remove what he described as the “terrible regime” in Tehran and to advance a trade agreement. Both leaders said they would also address efforts to end the war in Ukraine, stressing the need to safeguard Ukraine’s territory and security. Subscribe to our channel: bit.ly
