'Only the beginning': Pentagon warns more strikes to come against Iran

US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth and General Dan Caine briefed the Pentagon on "Operation Epic Fury" against Iran, now in its fourth day. Hegseth declared that US and Israeli forces have achieved "uncontested airspace" over Iran, allowing round-the-clock strikes on missile systems, leadership, and military infrastructure. He claimed Iran's navy has been "decimated" and its air force destroyed, including the sinking of its flagship Soleimani by a US submarine torpedo—the first such sinking since WWII. General Caine reported over 2,000 targets hit, Iranian missile launches down 86%, and drone attacks down 73%. He confirmed six US service members have been killed, naming four from the Army Reserves. Hegseth warned this is "only the beginning," with more strikes to come, and confirmed the killing of an Iranian operative linked to an assassination plot against President Trump.
