Israeli bombing leaves widespread destruction in southern Beirut

Israel's bombardment of Beirut's southern suburbs has displaced hundreds of thousands of residents and left entire neighbourhoods in ruins. Beirut southern district, home to some 500,000–600,000 people, was hit by an unprecedented all-encompassing evacuation order on 6 March. Israel says it is targeting Hezbollah strongholds, but the campaign has destroyed homes and businesses across the densely populated area.
