Trump says Hormuz Strait help ‘on the way’ as allies reject military action

The US is facing growing isolation over its plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Iran effectively blocked the key shipping route, after the US and Israel launched a military offensive on Iran. A fifth of the world's crude oil and liquified natural gas normally passes through the shipping channel. President Trump has called for countries to send war ships and mine sweepers to ensure tankers can transit safely. But he has been frustrated by the lack of support.
