The Philippine government has begun distributing an 85-dollar fuel subsidy to public transport drivers, days before President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is expected to suspend excise taxes on oil products. The country imports nearly all of its fuel supplies and has been hit hard by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Prices have doubled since the United Staes and Israel launched attacks on Iran.
