Mexico’s Gulf coast fishing communities face Holy Week losses as tar washes ashore and buyers avoid catch amid contamination fears, despite no tests confirming risk. Authorities have deployed about 3,000 personnel, boats and aircraft, and say 700 tonnes of tar have been cleared from roughly 600 kilometres of coastline, yet residues keep returning.
