Tension rises across the GCC as missile threats trigger alerts and interceptions

07/04/2026-23:58 08/04/2026-00:05 חדשות قناة Al Jazeera דיווח

Al Jazeera’s Zein Basravi joins live from Dubai. Basravi says there is a great deal of trepidation, fear, and tension across the GCC as states focus on protecting their sovereignty, airspace, and citizens. He reports that in the last few hours, several loud bangs were heard across Doha for the first time in nearly two weeks, with Qatar confirming it intercepted an incoming missile attack. According to Basravi, the UAE has also reported incoming missiles both this evening and earlier in the day, with the defence ministry saying it has repeatedly engaged missile and drone threats. He adds that sirens were heard in Bahrain earlier, while the US State Department issued an alert urging American citizens to shelter in place. Basravi notes that Kuwait’s Interior Ministry has instructed citizens and residents to remain indoors from midnight to 6am as a precaution. Subscribe to our channel: bit.ly
