Community kitchens known as tekayas have become a lifeline in Sudan as fighting between the army and the Rapid Support Forces disrupts access to food. At an Omdurman hospital, volunteers feed patients and neighbours, but soaring prices have forced many to scale back; Islamic Relief says over 40% shut in past six months. One kitchen has gone from three meals a day to one, with gaps of three to four days. Aid agencies warn that without funding, millions face hunger.
