A man accused of storming the White House Correspondents’ Dinner is facing multiple federal charges, including the attempted assassination of Donald Trump. According to the United States Department of Justice, the suspect, Cole Thomas Allen, has been charged with three serious offences: Attempted assassination of the US president Interstate transportation of a firearm to commit a felony Discharging a firearm during a crime of violence Prosecutors say the suspect was heavily armed, carrying a shotgun, a semi-automatic handgun, knives and other equipment at the time of the incident. Authorities also revealed that the weapons were purchased in California and transported across state lines, a key element in the federal case. Investigators are now reviewing a manifesto believed to be linked to the suspect as they work to determine the motive behind the attack. If convicted, the suspect could face life in prison.
