Leipzig mayor reacts after car rams crowd in Germany

At least two people were killed and several injured after a driver in an SUV drove into an area full of shoppers and cafe patrons. Witnesses said the car appeared to have been stopped by one of the retractable bollards protecting the area. The mayor, Burkhard Jung, said: “We still don’t really know the motivation.” Authorities confirmed the suspect was a 33-year-old German-born resident of the Leipzig area and had been arrested. “Everything else will now depend on the work of the police and the investigating authorities,” Jung added. #leipzig #germany #leipzigcarattack
