Trump calls Iran's proposal 'garbage,' says ceasefire on 'life support'

US President Donald Trump says the ceasefire between the US and Iran is “on life support” after dismissing Tehran’s latest response to a proposed peace framework as “garbage” and “totally unacceptable”. Speaking during an impromptu appearance at the White House, Trump said he did not even finish reading Iran’s response because it failed to address Washington’s central demand that Iran abandon any pursuit of nuclear weapons. Trump insisted he still has a plan for ending the conflict, saying his only red line is that “Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon”. He claimed divisions remain inside Iran between what he called “moderates” seeking a deal and “lunatics” pushing for continued confrontation, but said the ceasefire now has only a “one percent chance of living”. The US president also criticised Kurdish groups, saying he was “very disappointed” after weapons and ammunition allegedly sent to Kurdish fighters never reached their intended destination. Trump’s comments come amid growing tensions over stalled negotiations and fears the ceasefire could collapse entirely.
