The operation involved hundreds of police officers, along with elite YAMAM (National Counter-Terrorism Unit) and Border Police fighters, targeting suspects involved in the trafficking of illegal weapons and dangerous drugs. Over the past year, the Northern District’s Central Unit has managed several high-profile cases. By utilizing state witnesses, the unit successfully led to the imprisonment of the heads of the "Abu Latif" and "Bakri" crime organizations on serious charges. It can now be revealed that concurrently with those cases, the Central Unit operated a criminal informant who "crossed the lines," code-named "The Feather." His operation focused on arms dealers across various localities, primarily in northern Israel, including Nazareth, Shefa-Amr, Kafr Kanna, Zarzir, Reineh, Shibli, Meiser, Deir Hanna, Muqeible, Tel Sheva, and Jaljuliya. This morning, as the investigation transitioned to its overt phase, hundreds of Israel Police officers, YAMAM fighters, Border Police, and National Guard units raided the suspects' homes. During the raids, 38 suspects were apprehended, and evidence linking them to the alleged crimes was seized. All suspects are expected to appear later today at the Nazareth Magistrate's Court for a hearing regarding the police's request to extend their remand.
