Lightning strikes are becoming one of the most dangerous natural hazards in Bangladesh. Hundreds of people are killed annually, many of them farmers working in open fields. At least 72 people have died in lightning strikes this year. Scientists warn that climate change is making storms more intense, with deforestation leaving rural communities dangerously exposed.
