Mexican police fire tear gas at teachers protesting World Cup spending

Thousands of teachers have marched through Mexico City to protest government spending linked to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The demonstrations come as Mexico prepares to co-host the expanded 48-team tournament alongside the United States and Canada next year.
