Israeli forces say they intercepted a series of rockets launched from southern Lebanon, despite warnings from Israeli officials against any retaliation by Hezbollah. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ruled out withdrawing Israeli troops from Lebanon, saying Israeli forces will remain in Gaza, Lebanon and Syria for as long as necessary to protect the country. The remarks come as the newly announced US-Iran agreement seeks to reduce tensions across the region and includes efforts to secure a broader ceasefire. Netanyahu also reiterated that Israel would continue acting to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, regardless of any agreement reached between Washington and Tehran. The Israeli leader's comments have raised questions about whether the agreement can bring stability to Lebanon, where more than one million people were displaced by months of conflict and many are now beginning to return home.
