במהלך פעילות מבצעית שהתקיימה בסוף השבוע במסגרת מבצע רשת ברזל, ניהלו שוטרי תחנת העיירות, לוחמי חטיבת סה"ר ויחידת מג"ב דרום מרדף רכוב בבאר שבע אחר חשודים בהחזקת אמצעי לחימה, לאחר שניסו להימלט מכוחות המשטרה. בניסיון להימלט מהשוטרים ניגח הנהג הנמלט את רכב המשטרה. הכוח השיב בירי וביצע את מעצרם של שני יושבי הרכב, והאירוע הסתיים ללא נפגעים. בחיפוש ברכב נתפס אקדח. החשודים, תושבי תל שבע, נעצרו הועברו לחקירה בתחנת העיירות, ובית משפט השלום האריך את מעצרם. During the pursuit, the fleeing driver deliberately rammed a police vehicle in an attempt to escape. The officers responded by opening fire and arrested the two occupants of the vehicle. The incident ended without injuries. A handgun was recovered during a search of the vehicle. The suspects, residents of Tel Sheva, were arrested and taken for questioning at the Townships Police Station.
