Lebanon attacked: UNIFIL peacekeeper killed and another injured

Jakarta has condemned the death of an Indonesian peacekeeper deployed with UNIFIL, the United Nations mission in southern Lebanon. Another peacekeeper was critically injured when a projectile detonated close to a UN position. UNIFIL says it's not clear where the projectile came from, and that investigation is ongoing. UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has offered condolences to Indonesia, and he's warning that peacekeepers are being endangered by recent Israeli attacks. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the Israeli army to widen its offensive in southern Lebanon. He says it's meant to bolster security along the border following attacks by Hezbollah.
